Pool Cleaners

The most common methods to clean your Pool are by using either a Suction Cleaner or a Robotic Cleaner. Both methods have their Pros & Cons, with some people using both (Suction Cleaner when Pool is not in use & Robotic Cleaner during Swimming Season), depending on their situation.

  • Many different versions & models, from Floor Only Cleaners through to Cordless Cleaners. Look to get a Model that will do Floor, Walls & Waterline.
  • Are a great all-round Cleaner, able to handle both Large & Small Debris. If your Pool is in a leafy area, then this is the Cleaner for you.
  • Obviously the Cleaner needs to be removed from the Pool to Clean its internal Baskets, however if you are only using the Cleaner 2 or 3 Times a week, then this is not much of a chore.
  • May of the Cleaners have a “mapping” feature, so the Cleaner really covers all areas of your Pool.

  • Are great for smaller debris, but can struggle with larger Leaf matter etc.
  • The Suction Cleaner really lives in your Pool all year round, and now with Pool Hoses that easily pull apart into 1m lengths, the Cleaner is very easy to remove from the Pool if desired.
  • The Skimmer Basket (apart from your normal Backwashing) is really the only item that needs to be cleaned on a regular basis.
  • The Cleaner will work from your normal Sanitation running times.
  • This style of Cleaner can be very random in its cleaning pattern.

Is it okay if I keep my Zodiac pool cleaner in the pool?

  • Yes you can leave your Zodiac pool cleaner in the water. It’s an idea to take it out when the pool is being heavily used to prevent any damage or disruptions.
  • Continuous exposure to chemicals like chlorine levels can deteriorate the materials of the cleaner.

Will leaving it in affect its lifespan?

  • Possibly so. Taking out the cleaner regularly and storing it properly can extend its lifespan.
  • Leaving it submerged all the time may lead to wear on hoses and plastic components.

What about energy efficiency?

  • To save energy and reduce strain on your pool pump consider removing the cleaner when not in use.
